What do you think of the team for Saturday morning? Fairly close to Sir Bald's test team you reckon apart from maybe 3 or 4 players?
Going to watch it? It's going to be fucking carnage! ;D ;D

I have'nt really looked at it with too much detail but i heard he is going with the heaviest front row in lions history and they are all english i thought over the last 2 games they did ok but they will have to up their game greatly to compete with the all-blacks should be a great game all the same.

A real test before the storm coming in. If we are in for a close match with a good performance then no harm done when the Maoris have some seasoned ABs in the line up.

Well seeing that the Maoris who play for the ABs are available, this will be one mental game. It's always called the "4th test". The likes of Collins, Umaga, Nonu, So'oliano, McAlister, Weepu etc will be out like wolves to kick ass. I wouldn't be surprised if several Lions end up out of the tour after this game.

Yeah- agreed with your assessment. I hope Stephen Jones use his French stint to bring in some Gallic flavour in the backline. I haven't see the Lions' centre pairing as I presume it's Greenwood with Henson or what?

I'll move it..... The forwards held their own apart from Hayes who was annihilated. Got destroyed in the scrum..... As a result he was fucked moving around the park, couldn't defend the fringes at the breakdown. A tour too far for the big man. Cusiter was excellent. Hodgson, pains me to say it, was absolutely brilliant. Horgan really came into the game after making a basic error stepping into touch after gathering a kick with no-one near him, he set up a try for Murphy and scored one himself. Murphy was senastional - two brilliant tries. Hickie did ok. Greenwood and Smith were anonymous and can be consigned to the dirt trackers after that game. Overall the backs were the highlight though. Looking at the tight 5 for Saturday - O'Connell is the lightest by 2 stone (13 kg). Average weight of the tight 5 is 18 stone (115kg) Saturday's team: British and Irish Lions: 15 Josh Lewsey (Wasps & England), 14 Tom Shanklin (Cardiff Blues & Wales), 13 Brian O'Driscoll (Leinster & Ireland, c), 12 Gordon D'Arcy (Leinster & Ireland), 11 Shane Williams (Ospreys & Wales), 10 Stephen Jones (Clermont Auvergne & Wales), 9 Matt Dawson (Wasps & England), 8 Simon Taylor (Edinburgh & Scotland), 7 Martyn Williams (Cardiff Blues & Wales), 6 Richard Hill (Saracens & England), 5 Paul O'Connell (Munster & Ireland), 4 Simon Shaw (Wasps & England), 3 Julian White (Leicester & England), 2 Steve Thompson (Northampton & England), 1 Andrew Sheridan (Sale Sharks & England), Replacements: 16 Shane Byrne (Leinster & Ireland), 17 Gethin Jenkins (Cardiff Blues & Wales), 18 Ben Kay (Leicester & England), 19 Michael Owen (Newport Gwent Dragons & Wales), 20 Dwayne Peel (Llanelli Scarlets & Wales), 21 Ronan O'Gara (Munster & Ireland), 22 Shane Horgan (Leinster & Ireland). 14, 11, 10, 9 and 8 are yet to be decided. I would have Thomas, Robinson on the wings (maybe Murphy) ..... if wilkinson is any good - him at 10, otherwise Jones, Peel at 9. 8 is wide open after Dallaglio went home. Taylor gives away too many penalties. Corry is in poll position IMO. Owen has gone home because his wife is expecting.

I rest my case i called it right! ;D i did'nt think the lions were up to it and some actually looked tired already. O' Driscoll although he scored a good try also was in and out of the game alot.

Back row was useless. Martyn Williams - player of the 6N is useless as a 7. He's merely a link man. He got annihilated at every ruck and smashed backwards any time he tried to compete at the breakdown and Hill is just too slow to get around the park. Owen is muck..... One thing about Hill is that he tackled like a demon. Dallaglio is missed very badly - no leadership in the forwards. Could be a case to move Hill to 7....... I really don't know. Charvis or O'Connor should have been brought on the tour. That seems to be the biggest mistake Lord Bald has made. Also, Dawson is shite - the number of hand grenades he threw at Jones was ridiculous. And Peel was left sitting on the bench......

Dawson was bad! alot of players are playing out of position is this to accomodate other players or what? it is taking along time for some players to gel together. I thought hill actually did ok and i think the maori's where really up for it with some great players , the game yesterday i forget the name of the team utaga or something were an under strenght out fit who did'nt really look that bothered about the game. Hopefully the wellington will be more productive the lions need to get it right with the ab on form.
