We fielded our first ever second string XV last night against Coolmine. A mix of very young inexperienced lads and some of the older heads hitting 40 or over. I was the captain! Played "old style rules" - i.e. no lifting in the lineouts and if you kicked the ball into touch outside the 22 nd even if it bounced before it went out, a scrum was awrded back where the kick was taken. As a result it was played at a bloody high pace! Absolutely shattered at the end. Anyhoo, we won 29-0. Some great performances. Then pints and grub in Coolmine's spanking new clubhouse where the two captains had to make the speeches. God I hate making speeches. Really enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening though.

yeah we went to academy in belfast on saturday won,16-6 we where without our usual wingers but we put up a great team perfomance, i kicked 2 penalties, are you aware of the rule that if the ball goes a little deflated during the match you cannot change the ball. we where of the opinion you could especially as we rely quiet heavily on long deep kicks and chase with quick backs (not me included in that) so obviously you cannot kick a soft ball as far!! that puts us second and we can finish on the same points as the leaders and to my surprise i now here if we finish on the same points it goes to a play off!! ;D

it was'nt completely flat, and we won again at the weekend 60-5 against larne, believe it or not it was a sort of a boring game. but we got the ulster rugby board to change it's rules in terms of, if we finish with the same points as the team now top of the league, points difference does'nt come into it as we have had too many games scratched.

We lost 30-23 in an absolute stormer against the league leaders on Saturday. We can only finish 3rd in our section now so no place in the play-offs. An absolute stormer of a game. We led 13-5 at half time but they simply monstered us in the second half with the wind behind them and constantly pinned us in the 22. They also played about 4 or 5 bangers in their team.

Fucking annoying although I guess we should take it as a compliment - they're so worried about losing, they have to bring out some bangers.

i think this is my 2000th post, we are away to donaghdee at the weekend our crazy captain agreed to play for double points, as when we where supposed to play them the day after those five young people where killed in that horrific car crash. the thing is this could be what our season hinges on and we are missing a scrum half and i think a couple of other players which he new about before deciding to play the game for double points. this was not discussed with other team members apart from a little click of players, that is beginning to form, i have seen this before and it is the road to wreack and ruin. it will be discussed at training tonight and i will be voicing my opinion like lynch strongly! ;D

Surely to God you have someone else who can play scrummie? Play a flanker with a half decent pass there - he won't get shoved off the ball!

yeah we tried out several people last weekend and it sort of worked, but it means changing the team around quite a bit as one of our wing-forwards is ill, we are missing a prob and our full-back will have to go srum half then these players have to be replaced.
